Hello guys!
I just have joint to your forum. I own a '00 T22 facelift Avensis Wagon 1,8 vvt-i SOL since january 2013. Before that I had used a E11 facelift Corolla Liftback, but unfortunately it was crhashed by my wife last winter.

The Ave serves our family with the biggest satisfaction for more than 11.000km, its average consuption is 6,7 l/100km. We do not drive on motorways, but on country roads (70%) and city (30%) we do.

The car had only one owner in Germany between 2000-2012, it never was crashed, nobody smoked cigarettes in that. It is in a very good condition. It ran 203.000kms in Germany and since january, 11.000kms by us.
I will keep it in this condition in the future (cca. 5-6 years long). If I ever change car, it will be a hibrid (Prius +, or Auris Touring Sports HSD), that is my dream.

I am a member of the Toyota Club Hungary team for 2,5 years, we often organise TCH meetings in spring, summer and authum too.

I registered here, to get more information in connetcion with the possible faults of the car, and may be I could help you too. I am only a "car user", I do not repair it. I bring it to authorized Toyota service. Fortunately, I still not have any problem with my car, only oil- and filter changes, and of course brake fluid, coolant changes. These were essentials for me. All parts that I have changed are Toyota, or factory quality product.

Oil: Toyota fuel Economy 5W30
Oil filter: MANN W68/3
Air- and interrior filter: Nipparts
Brake fluid: Toyota DOT 5.1
Coolant: Eneos "red" (-37 celsius)

Question: How can I change my avatar pic, because at the present the forum engine signs fault if I go to the profile menu...

I've got some fresh photos about my Ave. They was taken on last weekend, after the polish&wax and the full interior cleaning works.
I love it, however it is not so beautiful as the new Lexus GSh...

I expected the process to be of 2 or 4 hours but 1 day I think it is too long

Really, how many time of work?

The effective work time is not so long, but the drying of the carpets: Because all seats are out, and a floor carpet as well. The guy clean these with water and "shampoo", and it needs much time to dry well (it is not summer here, max temperature is 10-15 celsius in october). If the carpets cannot dry well, vapor can be in the cabin, and it is not good. In summer, this whole work can be made lass, then a whole day.
While the carpets are drying, he make the wax on the outside of the car. ;-)

2-4 Hours is needed to the self-hand-made works at home. :-) I knwo it, I've done it...

Someday I will do the same with my car, but before I must paint it. Now the car is full of little dents (do you know) the people do not have care when opening the doors or when  parking.

Which products did you use?

Tengo entendido que los chapistas recomiendan no echar cera ya que en caso de tener que pintar algún desperfecto en la carrocería la pintura no se adhiere.

In this Spring the guy used the Autoglym HD Wax product, now he bought another product, that I don't know.
For the little damages I recommend to You the OEM Toyota paint repair set. This contains 2 bottles, one is the paint, the other is the lacquer. Not expensive to buy from your Toyota dealer.  :ok:
The other solution is the OEM paint repair vignette (I still do not use that).

--------------

Last friday I brought the car to the next oil- and filter change (218.000km at the present). The new oil is the Liqui Moly Top Tec 4300 5W30 - absolutely fabulous product.
Unfortunately the front brake disc and pads, that I bought (OEM Brembo) is not fit to my car, because my brakes are "2 pistons system" and I got a 1 piston pad set. So the service man cannot change it. Fortunately, the old pads and discs are still useable and safe.
I have already called the shop and they will give me the right set in some days (Product name can be TRW, Textar, Ferodo).

-------------

I watch the weather forecast to Hungary, but it seems, I still should not change the winter tires in October  :-)

Brembo front brake discs and pads are installed last weekend! Cool...  :malabares:
We took cca 130kms in the weekend, the brakes feel even better. No wavy braking, everything is continous, while pushing the pedal.

Some interesting things happened with my T22 for 2 weeks ago:

People may think it different, but I doesn't even like the "wood-looking" interior, so that's why I changed it into Skyfol ASW BR TI named layer. It is not glossy (I hate it), only satin-look. I have some photos about the resoult, everybody can decide himself, whether it is better or not. I love it, the look of the interior changed dramatically, I think.

By the way, the car as usual, does its work, no problems. TOYOTA.  :ok:

This was the original interior:

However in Hungary there wasn't so frosty winter, some light rost came near the rear wheels, those I have fast disappeared in both sides.
I took some photos as well:

Good job!!

Although the car has some year the interior look is very good, we can see that you are very careful with the Avensis.

Nice car, I hope that you follow enjoying.

Thanks. ;-)

I try to give everything important maintance to keep it in near 100% condition. It is not easy in financial side, but I try to do my best. I love my car, It is so greatful, I think.
I can see on the streets several other type cars in the same age, and it is rare, that is not get rosty. I simply proud to my car not to be rosty. :-)

If the first (german) owner cared of it, why I not do that further?  :numerouno:

Those vinyls look pretty good, but I wonder how do they withstand the daily use.

Oh, yes, this is the question, because the vinyl is very thin, so I should take care of it against scretches. Fortunately it was not so expensive, so if it get to be hurt, it can be repaired cheaply.

We'll see it... :-)
